About

“Todd Makes Sawdust” sums up my passion for woodworking in that I enjoy all types of woodworking, including hand and machine tool use, CNC, and laser. I can build for you custom commissioned furniture, or perhaps you’re looking for a wooden curiosity like a lantern or carved sign.

I am both cost-conscious and fully aware of the impact of our natural resources, therefore careful selection of sustainably harvested woods is critical not just to ensure quality pieces that will last for decades, but also to consider seasonal wood movement. Your furniture or curiosity will have a timeless style and you’ll be proud to pass it on for generations.

After 36 years in the US Navy, I decided to finally pursue my passion full-time, creating and learning woodworking as an art form. My passion for the use of good software as a tool to help develop wood projects led me to software that included, Sketchup, Fusion 360, Vcarve, and Canva. The natural progression was to bring those creations from the software side to wood so I invested in a CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) router and then two laser cutters. My more traditional furniture background comes from the renowned Port Townsend School of Woodworking which I attended from Jan 2022 to June 2023, completing all three eight-week intensives (Foundations of Woodworking, Traditions of Furniture, and Finally Art of Furniture) I studied under the tutelage of Gina Bonneau, Philip Shelton, Lacey Carnahan, Kevin Reiswig, Seth Rolland and Stewart Wurtz. I am constantly exploring that fusion between handcrafting and computer precision when it comes to building anything.

I am a family-owned and run shop based in Bremerton, Washington. I absolutely love working with clients to create the perfect piece of furniture or wood curiosity. Please reach out and let me know what I can help you create today.
