This was my final project in my recently completed classes at Port Townsend School of woodworking. Sapele tea cabinet with piston fit drawers with wenge faces. I am in love with the contrast of the dark wenge, black ash shiplap and Sapele. I really wanted the wood to speak, so the lines were clean and functional. Just got it hung and Stephanie filled it with some of her favorite tea cups and pots.
Sapele Dining Chair
Sapele dining chairs finished with 3 coats of livos for our dining room. These are first article prototypes, I already have a vision for small modifications for the next 6. This project was incredibly valuable for me in learning chair ergonomics and joinery. Everything is joined with dominoes which challenged me to find new ways to accurately find solid reference points to ensure strong joinery. The seat is upholstered black leather and also a new skill I learned and I am excited to sharpen in the future. I absolutely love the woodworking adventure.
